I T yeast
3 cups White Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Salt
3 T Honey
1 1/2 T Olive oil
1 3/4 cup lowfat buttermilk, room temp
1/2 cup sunflower kernels
sesame seeds and all purpose flour
Dissolve the honey in 1/4 cup of the buttermilk and then stir in yeast. Let sit for
10-15 minutes or until you start to see some yeast activity. Stir in the wheat flour and other dry ingredients (including the sunflower kernels) and the rest of the buttermilk and the oil. Knead, using some of the all purpose flour to keep things from sticking too bad. The dough will be sticky, but should come together fairly well. Put in an oiled bowl and let rise til doubled, about an hour.
Punch down and gather dough up and put in a loaf pan. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and let rise again. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (you may want to tent with foil if the top gets too brown).
