The Illinois Online Conference was a great success from my perspective, and I love the format options--they had poster sessions, chat sessions, and live classroom sessions. As someone who has both attended and participated in F2F and online conferences in the past, I highly recommend this one and the TCC Online conference if you're looking to try the online experience out.
Things that are great about online conferences:
* Everything is recorded; so, if you miss a session or if you have two sessions you want to attend that are at the same time, you can still view the archives.
* Drop boxes: IOC allows folks to upload their presentation materials, resources, and handouts to share!
* Variety of sessions: Don't like live sessions? That's fine, you can go to poster sessions or view archives.
I've enjoyed the JISC conference in the past as well, and went to the recent Jossey-Bass (where I was able to attend a Palloff and Pratt session). I'll post later this weekend or early next week with some calls for proposals for those of you interested in presenting at an upcoming conference.

The 2008 Illinois Online Conference is open for registration. I'll be one of the live presenters, and I'll be discussing "cool tools" like MP3 feedback files for students, using screencasts, and other fun things. Hope to see you there!
