Back before Christmas, we decided to go out to visit T and J; T and D are old friends from back in the day when they worked at Food 4 Less (D in the Deli and T in the butchery department). T's been out in CA for years now, and we don't think we can ever convince him to move back. But, then, if he did, I guess we wouldn't have a good excuse to go to Palm Springs, would we?
We had a great time; T and J let us stay with them, which was nice not only on the pocketbook, but also made the trip seem far more like home. T was able to take some time off to take us to The Living Desert and The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which takes you up to the top of Mt. San Jacinto. I had been to Palm Springs once before, but didn't get to do any fun stuff, so having a local show us around was really nice. We also went to Joshua Tree Park, and wandered around there for a day. It would be great to go back there and camp sometime (I suppose we could ship our camping stuff or check it at the airport). Here are some pics from those days.
Other great places that T took us: Sherman's Deli and a great Thai place that I can't remember the name of (it was one of those hole in the wall strip mall joints that has food you'll always remember--in a good way).

I don't think I really need to caption this one :)
See the body of water out there? That's the Salton Sea. I'll talk about that in my next entry about the trip.
